Concerning the fundamentals. Dear pro,in your opinion,what is the correct distance from the bridge to the cue ball on normal shots?

I advocate 5 inches or less; most standard instruction suggests 5 to 8 inches, but I believe shorter is better, for a number of reasons. Save your longer bridges for breaking the balls
