This isn't a strategy question, but I was hoping that you could answer it all the same. I am wondering how much room you would recommend be between a pool table and the wall?
Don't believe your salesman!
When shopping for a new table the retailer has a spec sheet that seems to be standardized. It's specs for the distance around the table is about 4-1/2 feet. This is just to sell the table. If you believe the chart, you'll be purchasing a short cue stick for certain shots. The real safe distance to use an average length cue is minimum 5ft. If anybody playing on your table uses a longer cue they may still run into a problem. To be safe 5-1/2 ft. on each side is really a minimum.
